Read Pray Activate In His Word.
Okay, so we sperated ourselves from among the world of distractions in our last post, so today we are going to ask ourselves how much time we have spend in the Word this week? Are you still doing the daily reading? Its half way through the second month and this tends to be when things get busy again and we skip a day here or two, and then we feel wehave failed and need a day to catch up.
I have found it it easier to pick it up where I left off and keep going without condemning myself for lagging. I suggest that you pray, ask God to help you get in one days read, whether its following the same list or if you are choosing a chapter at random read at least a chapter a day. I also want to say, try not to let yourself get down about it! Romans 8 tells us this!
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: In order that the righteous requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.Romans 8:1-4
Of course that is if we are walking according to the Spirit, and really God knows our hearts and minds so we cannot fool Him if we try to tell even ourselves that we ‘I just can't' or “tried" to read it lets face it God is listening, He is seeing everything we do and will know jut when to make things hard enough to kick ourselves for ignorning His guidance too!But we are not that person anymore! We spent a Month in prayer together, and reading daily at the same time as many were fasting as well. What powerful women and men of God we are becoming! How can we fail to read the Bible everyday?
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but nat are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 8:5-10
So, stop being carnaly minded because you have been given the mind of Christ within you via the Holy Spirit. All that complaining, and faiure talk is not at home in your mind! So, as a wise young adult woman once told me when I had stinking thinking, “Just stop”.
Do you need more encouragement that you can kick the enemy out of your life and keep the Word there as a great big door? Keep reading!
But Christ is in you then eventhough your body is subject to death because of sin, the spirit gives life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:10-11
He did, He has raised you up out of this with His spirit and that means you have the power and etermmination to keep reading, keep praying, keep walking in the Word!
Remember?
And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. Romans 8
(just reworded the verses up there!)
And remind yourself, that Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. You may be tired out, you may think you cannot do it, but He can help you to read it, pray it, live it!
Today why not go read Habakkuk, its three chapters and you can call it a book!
Then write what you read. Address only, or full on reaction to it!
You can do it! You can do all things cause Christ is with you
Today I read in Habakkuk, two chapters. You can stop with that if that’s how much time you left yourself, or you can go on with incouragment about what just read! I love taking my notes out later in days or months and even years at times to see what God shared with me in His Word!
His Word is timely, and it will ‘get you' again! And again!
Heavenly Father, thank you for helping us keep with the program today! Thank you for beingin us and with us each day as we walk in Your presence and we can read, pray, and activate the Word in our hearts as we go through what ever comes to us.Keep us on track and in the Word everyday, In Jesus’ name .
