Its kind of funny the wording of the following verse, to take delight is actually in some versions delighting in the Lord. Here it is a dainty or delicateness, it depicts an inward posture of pleasantness expressed in either luxuriant self indulgence or in a godward, soul satisfying delight. In this case a Godward soul satisfying delight fits perfect! If you read through the Strong's Hebrew interpretations you will find that It points to being happy in the Lord, or Godward. So we are to be happy towards God, He will give us the desires of our hearts.
That is just the beginning, we are also told to commit everything we do to the Lord, and to trust Him to help us! Commitment is hard sometimes, for one or two things, but for everything you really have to trust God to help you!
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Psalm 37:4-6
So, when we committed to fasting and praying for 21 days we may have found it harder than we thought, maybe we even had to ask God to help us to stay the course? At any rate at this time in the month you have made it! We have been praying together for 21 days but that is only where the fasting stops! I promised you a month of prayers, and so we still have 10 days left!
Today when we pray let us lift up gratitude, delight in the Lord, and rejoice in God our savior!
Heavenly Father, we thank you for bringing us this far in our daily prayers for January 2026. We praise you for the encouragement we have felt from you and others as we commit ourselves to doing Your will in Your way. Thank you for giving us the desires of our heart as they are presented according to Your will ,in Jesus's name.
