Praying In Reality- In His Word 1-26-2026

How do you even deal with situations going on in the world around you when things get crazy and full of chaos? We get in the Word! Study to show ourselves approved by God and find out what in the world He would have us do to get through the crazy times we live in. The important point there is to be approved by God. He will give us the information, the direction the guidance when we put and keep our mind on Him and His Word in prayer and reading.  Worshiping the Lord in song helps too! So go put on some worship songs and finish reading this and pray!

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.  For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.  And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.  Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world.  But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.  Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.  Put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized,[d] slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.  Colossians 3:1-11

Okay let me interject here that we need to not judge others but pray for them when we see other people living wrong, we can decide that it is wrong and pray that God will show them the right way to go. All though, when I was a baby Christian I was called out on a habit I had of reading those lame horoscopes that were a fad back in the day, (I wont say what year it was cause I am older than the dirt my daughter says) by a young man, or older teen. I mocked him but never bought one again! This is to say you never know if you are influencing someone when you say in a kind way “you know the Lord, or the Bible, says not to do things not pleasing to God…” or something of that sort. So, Think before you speak, and pray before you say!

After all we are called by God, each of us who have chosen to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior are called to be holy people that He loves. So, let’s live a life worthy of that calling!

Like Paul says.

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God.  Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.  Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. Ephesians 4:1-3

Being humble is not always easy. We can fight it thinking we are powerful Christians why should we be lowly but being humble putting our needs lower than someone elses. Think about it Jesus Christ went humbly to his accusers and was beaten and hung on the cross for us. God Himself! He could have just wiped us all out in anger, but He humbled Himself and did the will of the Father God.

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony, and let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body, you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.  And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father Colossians 3:12-17

Sowe personally know the truth, we just read it, and we need to live at peace with people as much as we personally can do that. The problem is we cannot control other people and expect them all to know what we know. That goes back to that we are all on a different spot on the path of life thing. So, and I am guilty of this just as much as the next person, we need to remember that our friends, neighbors, and the people in our world around us are not necessary full of the wisdom that God has filled us with at the same amount, or place, or circumstance that we are in at this very moment, or any moment for that point.  Give them grace! Pray for grace to pour out of y ou and pray for the people who are in the world to come to Jesus and know truth. When we know truth, we can know peace, when we know peace, its usually because we know God! He is our peace that breaks down all the walls of the world’s mess! All the walls of fear, of misunderstanding, and more!

So, let’s just do this next thing; keep our eyes on Jesus and trust Him to direct our paths!

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock. Isaiah 26:3-4

Let’s pray!

Heavenly Father, thank you that we can find peace in the shadow of your wings! Help us today to keep our hearts and minds on You in all that we do that we may be humble knowing that without Your grace, and Your guidance we would be in the chaos of the world as well. Thank you for pulling us out of the world and bringing us to a place that we could accept You as our Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray….
