Pray Freely with Freedom
I don't say this to give you abandonment, but I give you these words to think on regarding when you pray; do not pray from just a straight copywritten prayer, but pray from the heart. Not that it is bad to quote old written prayers, but God wants to hear our heartfelt prayers as well. A prayer from the heart is more full of faith, for one thing. If you come up with the words you are the one who will pray the truth.
Like when Jesus was asked to teach the disciples to pray He gave an outline
. He said Pray like this, not say these exact words.
"Jesus said, “This is how you should pray:" Father, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. Give us each day the food we need..." Luke 11:1-3
Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Galatians 5:1
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. Galatians 5:16-18
So, since Christ set us free we need to pray with freedom in our hearts and mind. Ask seek, knock. Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find...knock and it will be opened to you.
So to do this we pray in the spirit, an with understanding so that we are lead by the Holy Spirit what to pray, when to pray, and how to pray; long or short.
Heavenly Father, I lift up the people reading this today that they would draw nigh to You that you would draw near to you... Listen to your hearts Lord and hear our Spirit sing, in Jesus name, .
