Pray Expecting
A lot of people pray thinking they are doing things right but still wonder if they will get heard, or a reply, or if God even cares.
I want you to know that prayer matters!
Sometimes God gives another person the 'back up' prayer for you. That is when He puts you on an intercessors heart. But that doesn't always happen and you don't always know that someone else was praying. So how do you know that you can pray and that God will hear?
You look in His Word!
This is what the Lord says: “You will be in Babylon for seventy years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.” Jeremiah 29:10-14
Like I keep saying this year; read the Word, pray the Word, apply aka live the Word! When we accept the promises, the directions and the guidance from the Holy Spirit and His Word then we need to do it! Do what He says, wait, pray, walk in it. Whatever it says.
The people above had to trust God to do what He said.
Often that's what we need to do too! Itslike this with praying and fasting too. When we fast, we are substituting the food for time with God. In that time with God you pray, communication is the key here We pray and we listen and we pray, and we read the Word, and we sometimes worship in song as well. During the time you would have eaten the food you replace food with the spiritual food from His word and Prayer.
When you do this, you trust God to hear you. Do you know He hears you even if you do not do the fast? He does, but sometimes a fast is required. There are a lot of scriptures on this so Tomorrow I will ad some more on that, the tough things that need a fast to get the answer.
Today take the time to pray, and read your Bible, and then sit and think on it! Take a Selah moment! Expect God to hear and reply!
Heavenly Father, thank you for hearing my prayers. Help us to trust you to respond as You see fit and to know know know that you listen to our cries, in Jesus' name,
