Joy in believing; believing is Joy! In His Word 12-15- 2025

Paul of all people understood what the people of Israel felt or thought  about how to be saved. He knew their misdirected ideas and guidance that they used to follow and felt as if it was the only way. The thing is God’s way was different; He made us right with Him in a full on different way than anyone really could understand.
Jesus came to give us the righteousness that we could not get without Him. Though many tried, and even a few followed the Laws and the Prophets and were obedient to God, they still needed Jesus to be truly saved from their sins and made right with Him.

Dear brothers and sisters,[a] the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal.  For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given.[b] As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. Romans 10:1-4

What they really needed to learn is that it was not a mind over matter thing. You cannot get saved by doing good, doing right, or whatever else they think.

For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands. But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).”

In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.”

And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:5-9

Jesus Himself said a few times that the Kingdom of God was at hand. Is at hand. This is actually because the Kingdom of God is within us! When we confess with our mouths, and believe in our hearts that Jesus died, rose again, and went back to heaven, then we can not only be saved but we become part of the Kingdom of God!

You see, the Kingdom of God is God Himself, and with the Holy Spirit in us when we accept Christ, believe in our hearts, and the very message of faith that they preached to us we declare it to be true. Then the Holy Spirit has dwelt within us and we are sharing the Kingdom.

But how do we know? How do those who don’t know learn?

For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”

Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.  For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:10-15

Think about it, someone shared Jesus with you in one way or another. With me it was many ways, many people sharing little bits of their faith. An aunt who prayed openly for the rain to stop on the way to her sister’s funeral. An evangelist who left little booklets for us to learn about God from.

Two dreams and a Bible even taught me who God was and helped me to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be save. Then I became a part of the Kingdom of God!

You can too, if you are not already! Just begin by believing in Jesus Christ… then follow the steps on the Roman’s road!

Anyone can learn, anyone can be saved, just decide in your heart. You don’t have to follow any special steps, just believe in your heart that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, God’s Son. That He came to earth to save us from sin and the sting of death. He came to give us Peace on earth ,but more than that to give us peace within us. He gave us life more abundant, and He came to give us Joy in the Holy Spirit!

Why? Why would He choose you? Because you are you! He loves you really, just like you are, good or bad, rough or soft, Jesus loves you. Take a few moments this week and think about the Nativity scenes you see here and there. Maybe watch a video, or short message about Jesus’s birth. Soak it all in! Take a Salah Moment! Look up the Romans Road map to Salvation either here on this site or online. Then follow the steps to learn.    It is belief in your heart that saves you, but learning about why, etc, that’s important too!

Today Is the 15th day of Advent, we have been studying about this both at Church and on this site. I love to learn more each year as we go through the topics and focus on Jesus.

Paul was trying to teach the Jews that they could just believe and be saved. They could still learn and obey but that the belief is what does it, it’s a heart thing!

Heavenly Father, thank you for putting your Truth in our hearts today, thank you for giving your Spirit to each of us as we start to believe and for helping us to ‘get it’. Thank you for our lives leading us to You in so many places. Help us to walk the walk You plan for us and to follow you all the days of our lives just like your Word says, In Jesus’ name. amen
