Get Jesus, Get Joy! Advent Day 16 2025

Get Jesus Get Joy! Advent Day 16

Joy unspeakable? When something amazes you so much and you cannot speak, you are so grateful that God and whoever has granted this thing to happen. This is unspeakable joy!

You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see Him now you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting Him will be the salvation of your souls. 1Peter 1:8-9

Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise His Holy name. For His anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weaping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:4-5

David knew this for a fact as he morned his loss because of his own sins. He wept depths of dispair until he stopped. Joy came in the morning. When he knew God forgave him and accepted his repentant heart.

These things bring joy. The joy of forgiveness both expressed and received. The joy of salvation given to us by Jesus. Do you remember when you knelt, stood, or lay there and asked God to save you?

Once when we were driving in a pixk up truck with our most precious belongings, we hit water, blew a tire and rolled. As we were going around and around I one thing; I called out to Jesus to help us. I cried out “Oh Jesus!Oh Honey" and now it sounds funny but at the time Ijsut wanted Jesus to save us and keep my honey safe!He did! Though there were a lot of issues to have to deal with God provided nurses to stop and care for us in their shuttle bus. They had been on the way to their homes. After the hours in emergency rooms we were released to get ourselves home via a family member who lived near by. Well joy came in the morning when we wokeup to my hubby only hacving 6 tiny stitches and me none! We had stayed at my relatives because we were onour way to sign for our new place when it happened. We were treated to comforts of home. And we were safe! The Joy of the Lord filled our hearts and minds for sure!

When the Angel said they bring you titdings of great joy in luke 2:10 and even before that when Zechariah was told his prayer was answered and that His wife was going to have a son, he was told he would have great y and gladness and that many would reoice at his birth for he would be great in the eys of the Lord. Luke 1:14-15 This was such joy! Such unspeakable joy that was upon them!

There is an old hymn chorus that starts with “Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and coming with singing, unto Zion, and everlasting Joy shall be upon the earth".

Today to find joy in your steps, pray, and sing worshiping songs to Jesus, thanking God for all you do have!

Grab hold of that inconceivable, understated, everlasting joy today!Get Jesus in your life!

You know… Get Jesus, get joy! In Jesus' name
