Pick anything! In His Word 6-10-2024
We used to play a game from time to time with the kids, mostly when
we were driving someplace, sometimes when they were just bored. I would tell
them to pick and item and we would ‘find Jesus in it’. In other words, we would
find a way that this item could be used to share about Jesus with anyone,
anytime, anywhere that it was there.
When Jesus noticed that all who had come to the dinner were trying to sit in the seats of honor near the head of the table, he gave them this advice: “When you are invited to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the seat of honor. What if someone who is more distinguished than you has also been invited? The host will come and say, ‘Give this person your seat.’ Then you will be embarrassed, and you will have to take whatever seat is left at the foot of the table!
“Instead, take the lowest place at the foot of the table. Then when your host sees you, he will come and say, ‘Friend, we have a better place for you!’ Then you will be honored in front of all the other guests. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. Luke 14:7-11
Jesus did this a lot with parables. Or just plain story lessons like
above. He took the behaviors of the guests and found a way to share how God
would have us behave.
So today, this will be fun

I know anyone can do it right? Maybe.
Okay, I chose the cat that just walked up to me. It is a common occurrence
and I thought of how she is persistent like Jesus. She waits beside me just staring
at me, like my Bible, until I give her the attention. So, my scripture is;
Behold I stand at the door and knock!
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and
repent. Behold, I stand at the door and
knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and
dine with him, and he with Me. To him
who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and
sat down with My Father on His throne. Revelation 3:19-21
She patiently, or impatiently at times, waits for me to invite her
into my presence. Jesus does that when we need to realize He is there for us. He
waits for us to say Hello Jesus come join me in my life, my world, my heart and
mind!
