Day 29 Advent count down and beyond! In His Word 12-29-2023
In only a few days the number at the end of our dates will
change. Not a whole lot will really change from day to day except we will have
to remember to put 4 instead of a 3. Thank God that every day can be a new
beginning when we are starting it with Him!
“If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the
Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is
the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him because
it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him because he
lives with you now and later will be in you. John 14:15-17
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with
such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor
forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
As we plan ahead to the new year we need to remember to make
God a part of it. We need to be certain we will take the time, or make the
time, to pray and read the Word to know what His commands are so that we will
know what to do to obey them.
Now we know that we are to love Him, and if we love Him we
abide in Him, and in abiding we find that He loves us too! What about the way
our worldly friends start their new year? Do they know that there is a God
waiting to spend time with them?
Let’s make it our plan to share Jesus with those who we know
may not know Him. As we spoke of the
full month long, its not so hard to do when we get in the Word, and prayer
daily. The more you pray the more you read the more it will come out of your
mouth and shine from your life. That is
the reason we want to make the plan to start the year ahead with God centered
in it.
