Day 17 ~ Advent Countdown-In His Word 12-17-2023
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
When the angels had returned to heaven, the
shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that
has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” Luke 2:13-15
The Shepherds did not leave their flock out there to fend
for themselves, they took them with them. Today I heard a preacher say the fields
where they were watching their flocks were near to the village, and to the baby
Jesus resting place. They only had to go over a hill, so they decided to go see
this amazing thing the Angel had just told them about.
We may not be angels, but we can incite the same excitement
when we tell someone the truth. When we tell them how this little child in the
Christmas story is God’s son and now is seated with the Father. The thing is to
tell someone realy serious information you have to have read it and studied it
and then you will really know it to share it with them. There used to be a song
that went “ I’ve got to tell somebody , tell somebody what Jesus did for me” then it went on telling us of things He did.
If we could sing it out that is what it would be like. When you live through
something God has blessed you, or healed you, or protected you, then you just
have to tell somebody!
