Daily Advent Countdown-In His Word 12-2-2023
Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you;
rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old
commandment—to love one another—is the same message you heard before. Yet it is
also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living
it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining. 1
John 2:7-8
This week my mind is focused on new beginnings, mostly
because it is a new month at the end of an old year. Changing a new year is not
really anything special but it gives us a chance to change things that we do not
like in our lives. Loving one another is a great thing to decide to do in the
coming month, but also the year ahead! It’s
the same message we hear, to love one another, and treat them nicely and all
that, but we forget it or get lazy in sharing God’s love as a gift to those who
do not deserve it. After all we did not deserve it either, but He still loved
us. He was the perfect gift, being that God is love, and we need to live like
someone who is loved by God and loves others the same way. Let’s remember to
put on Christ, and not take Him off! Let’s share love with everyone around us
today as much as possible! The more we love the less people will walk in the
darkness and depression in the world. Look around, how can you love others
today in your situation right now? The true light, is it shining in you?
