Hark the Herald Angels Sing! Count Down Day19!
The angels that came to visit the
Shepherds were sent by God to give them the
message that would not just lead them to baby Jesus but us a well! How
wonderfully marvelous that this scene took place!
When you read the following
Scriptures pay close attention to what the angels said. I know a lot of us
heard this on a certain Christmas show as kids but it is important to day that
we see these verses as they are.
Now there were in the same country
shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before
them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly
afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do
not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be
to all people. For there is born to you
this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will
find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude
of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and
on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2 :8-14
So, we must listen very carefully
to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. For the message God
delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law
and every act of disobedience was punished. So, what makes us think we can escape if we
ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself
and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? And God confirmed the
message by giving signs and wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy
Spirit whenever he chose. Hebrews 2:1-4
We also know that the Son did not
come to help angels; he came to help the descendants of Abraham. Therefore, it
was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and
sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God.
Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people.
Hebrew 2:16-17
What a blessing that God brought us
His Son Jesus to save all of us, not just the Jews, but us Gentiles a well!
That those of us thousands of years later could know God just as much as the Shepherds
that the angels sent, and well maybe even a bit better! Our God planned for you
to read this today and for me to write it so what are we going to do with this
knowledge? Maybe like Charles Shultz we can share it in a comic, or sing about
it? I am going to share it with you
first then the rest of the world! Well as far as my blog reaches.
In His Love,
