Advent 2021 Day 1!
It's here! December 1st has arrived!
Okay, so you may not be so happy about it because you may, like the picture on my right be thinking of all the things you have to carry this month. Gifts, baking, parties, end of the year projects at work and at home. Not to mention, but I will; decorations and wrapping and holiday magic to create! How can we do it all, we have to do it all!
But wait! No, you do not have to do it all!
Many people have decided to go simple this year, to create their own gifts and spend time with family. It is not because they are mandated to do so but because they realized the importance in spending time with loved ones and sharing special moments. Creating Memories is important to me, but I often wonder why?
Then I think about how in the Old Testament people had to pass down the family memories verbally and then by written word. If they did not share the memories we would not have the Word of God to be unified in Christ! Today lets start the month focused on God! Let's live our lives according to the Word!
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. Ephesians 5:1-2
Think on these verses and contemplate how to live like Christ in all you do. He does not expect you to be perfect until He is done with you, but you and I can work to do things like Jesus did. Lets offer up a pleasing aroma of love and kindness to God today! In Jesus name....
