Perspective potential, in His Word 2-17-2020

In His Word- 2-17-2020

Think of the potential when you come into a temptation or a trial… what can God do with your life if you sin or if you choose to over come by way of prayer, asking for help, or pushing past the temptation. After all, if God is for us nothing can stand against us. So, we can overcome any temptation that is common to man or not!
But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:32

When we venture off on our own we are literally tempted by many things. After all no one would know if we did something wrong, no on who knows us, so who cares right? Wrong!  We need to be extra careful when off in the world because that is when things will come at us from all sides with newfound freedom. If we stay in the Word of God and prayer, we will be strong enough to stand up against the wiles of the devil!
So that means we put on our armor daily!
If we do that, we will be fine, but what about our friends who fall to sin? What do we do? Do we get mad at them and walk away? Leaving them alone? Should we yell at them and tell them how dumb they are for falling to sin?  No, we should dig into the Word and get powered up in the Spirit before speaking to them. We need to be strong and able to be a solid rock to them. We need to gently reach out to them and bring them back to the fold.
Even if we are the most studied Christian we can still fall; w must be cautious as we know that pulling someone up is harder than falling with them.

Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.  Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.  If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. Gal 6:1-3

Don’t be foolish, know that they need your help. They need you to carry them at times and to encourage them but that does not mean you are really any more important to God than they are; it means you are stronger so that you can pick them up and carry them as needed.
Teach them by your actions to humble yourself, that they will tear down the wall of deception and be able to hear you when you speak to them, as well as acting on the desire to come clean and away from the sin that ensnares them.
Do you not know that this is one reason we must stay in touch with one another? When we stay connected, we can form that bonded three cord rope. If we wander off alone or allow someone else to thinking that they do not need us, well, that can be as bad as knowing they are in sin and allowing it.
Then we are in danger of sin itself because if you know what the right thing to do is and do not do it we are guilty of sin.
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17

So, stay prayed up, get in the Word of God and be prepared then encourage your friend to get out of the sin by sharing the love of God.
Heavenly Father help us to stay strong by staying connected to You that we will be able to stand and to pull them back into the kingdom, in Jesus name, amen.
