Inspiration-
In His Word 2-24-2020
If you
dig in the Word today it is my hope that you will find a desire to read more of
the life and times of Jesus Christ and Family.
“I have
always loved you,” says the LORD.
But you
retort, “Really? How have you loved us?”
And the
Lord replies, “This is how I loved your ancestor Jacob, but I rejected his
brother Esau, and devastated his hill country. I turned Esau’s inheritance into
a desert for jackals.” Malachi 1:1-3
If you
are sitting here thinking how does that show love? I will tell you that you must keep reading
the book of Malachi to know. God’s Word is like that. We cannot just take one
portion and think we are full up for the week! When we are in church listening
to as pastor speak, we are to glean from it. His job is to put the Word out
there in an appetizer fashion that gives us hints on what else to get from the
menu.
That’s
why at our churches they tell us to get our notebooks ready to take notes! He
is not meant to give us the full serving for the week just enough to make us
want to know more! If you are getting well fed, that is okay but its not going
to be enough for long!
We could
look at the times the Israelites were in the desert wandering when God gave
them first Manna; they were instructed to get just enough for their family and
no more. Of course, we read that eventually it was not enough, they were such
spoiled children, so they complained, and He gave them quail to eat as well!
If they
could get enough each day of the manna from heaven then they would be well fed,
none left over, just enough was great!
Our mana
comes from the Word of God, we need to have that daily dose to live a life
without fear, with hope, and guidance for that day. We would have just enough
for the day! Then we of course need to get more the next day.
So why do so many people think that all they need is Sunday feeding? I know if I do not feed on the Word daily, I get grumbly and complain. I forget the goodness of the Lord and all that He has done for me; I sometimes could even doubt that He loves me.
So why do so many people think that all they need is Sunday feeding? I know if I do not feed on the Word daily, I get grumbly and complain. I forget the goodness of the Lord and all that He has done for me; I sometimes could even doubt that He loves me.
So, I
make it a plan to study the Word daily to gain the strength to push on forward
to do the right things, to have the right mind frame and to be strong in His
power and His might when I pray. In all these things I can be more than a conqueror
when I am in the mind of Christ. I could not put on the mind of Christ if I did
not have the Word of God in my heart and mind to know what that is!
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his
children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world
don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. Dear friends,
we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like
when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see
him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep
themselves pure, just as he is pure. 1 John 3:1-3
As we continue reading scriptures about love we will find
below how we know that we have Christ in us; how we know what love really is.
We are told elsewhere that God is love.
But I would not know this had I not read about it.
This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should
love one another. We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and
killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what
was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous. So don’t be
surprised, dear brothers and sisters, the world hates you.
If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves
that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still
dead. Anyone who hates another
brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that
murderers don’t have eternal life within them.
We know what real love is
because Jesus gave up his life for us. So, we also ought to give up our lives
for our brothers and sisters. If someone has enough money to live well and sees
a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s
love be in that person? 1 John 3:11-16
Today I hope to give you a desire to read more in your Bible
today and every day, my prayer is that you get in His Word!
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your love that will cover our
sins and remove them as far as the east is from the west. Help us to learn more
about you and your Love in our Bibles daily. In Jesus’ name amen.
