Dailies ~in the Word
November 2019
My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory.

Why do I always think that my needs to be supplied are smaller than that?  We ask for such small things all the time; healing, financial breakthrough, directions. Yet, when He gives us directions to live by, we falter and think it’s too much for us! We think we know better what to eat, what to drink, where to work, how to spend our money; but our God has directions for all of this in His word!

It starts with us walking worthy of our calling and being untied in keeping ourselves pure like Christ, not allowing the world or Satan's cronies to affect our walk; that means even the political views of other people too!  We need to remember that God wants us to, “love everyone in the whole wide world” as I used to sing as a child.  He wants us to love our neighbors and pray or those who spitefully use us. It does not say only people of a certain type, or a certain style, but that we love everyone.
Not that we should join them in their sin, but we should love them enough to pray for them, to lift them up to God and to be full of His mercy and grace!
“Father forgive them for they know not what they do,” should be our echo of Jesus’ prayer over those who do really mean, rude or stupid things that offend us. We should not go around slandering them, because how does that keep our hearts pure before Him?
How is that walking humbly before our God and man?
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.
Therefore, He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive and gave gifts to men, Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fulfill all things.)
Ephesians 4:7-10

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;  who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:  that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,  and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,  and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:17-24

To truly be the person God wants or us to be we must daily work to put on that new person that God showed us in the beginning, the one who longs to be closer to God, to know Him better than we know ourselves!  Remember that you? I do! I remember when I could love the Lord with all my heart and not even think of what to do to please Him. I remember when I could allow my life to shine as one who knew Him, today I find I falter depending on how my body feels. Between injuries, and though I hate to admit it misuse of my muscles I feel my age occasionally. I work to focus on God not self some days and on those days, I find myself lead to His word! I find that when I am down, I get back up again by looking to Jesus the author and the finisher of my faith! The leader and ruler of my days and my nights, my redeemer my love, my Lord!  When my thoughts re focused up ward, my mind is restored, my faith is renewing and I know the Love of Jesus is better than anything else, or anyone else giving me attention, it shows me just who I am to Him!

Let’s make it a plan to focus on Him today! Let’s not focus on our problems, or our pile of papers to get to, but let’s focus on Jesus and all He has done for us! Let’s ask Him to renew our strength; both physically and spiritually today! Let’s walk according to and worthy of our calling basking in His presence!

Heavenly Father, make it so! Draw us nearer to You via Your holy Spirit today, we hear You call our name and we come running to You today and ask or your strength in us. Pour out Your spirit upon us, draw us nearer, and prepare us with a new us to face today, in Jesus’ name, amen!
