Dailies~ In
His Word
October 2019
Many times, I have watched as people chose to ignore God’s word
and His desires and attempt to do what they thing is best instead. They end up
often wallowing in muck and mire instead of walking down a smooth trail lead by
the Lord Jesus. We need to pay attention to what we read in the Word of God,
and what is spoken from teachers or preachers wherever we hear them. Then we
weigh it all with what we know to be good and truth; the Bible, our Word of God
that speaks to our hearts and minds. Why do we do this when the Word shows us
how to live? How do we go on reading it and not apply it to our lives?
Some really choose to not do what it says because they enjoy living
in the world having its ‘fun’. The thing we need to remember is that we have
Christ with us, and so when we find we are trying to just wing it, or do it on
our own; God’s Sprit convicts us and this can make us act in anger due to our
own annoyance with ourselves for failing to do the Will of God. It’s okay
though! You can walk back into the word and repent for the foolishness you have
done; God wants to direct our paths always and He is a forgiving God.
Human anger does
not produce the righteousness God desires. So, get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and
humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to
save your souls. But, don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what
it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. James 1:20-22
So, stop being mad and angry, give peace a chance! Ha ha! Peace comes
with faith; faith comes from hearing and hearing by the Word of God! Romans 10:27
If you claim to be religious but don’t control
your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure
and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans
and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
James 1:26-27
Do the right thing, help those orphans and widows
in their distress! Help them and do good things that will keep you from
wallowing I selfish desires, or sorrow. Keep our minds on things above, and on
the Word of God, that way we will not sin against God but be pure and holy as
He is holy!
Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us the Word to read and to
plant in our hearts, and to apply to our lives. Help us to read it and know it
and use it for Your Glory, in Jesus’ name, amen.
