Dailies ~in His Word
October 2019
Something I was thinking about as I read an old seminar note for Learning to Trust in the Lord. It started with my favorite signature verse;
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Proverbs 3:5-9
One reason I like this verse is because it was the first one after I believe in God, Jesus, and the whole Bible thing, that I could remember! Address and all. I have a habit of doing as Jesus did, and He would often say, or so the writers of the Bible quote Him as saying, “it is written…” So I no longer stress about addresses if I know the Word straight. I trust God to bring it to me as I need it.
Another reason I like this verse is that it has promises for trusting Him! The blessings of 1) Him directing our lives, showing us where to go, what to do, and guiding our feet to follow after Him as we trust Him,
2) When we trust Him, and get away from evil in the process, He will also give us health to our body, bones and all that!
Those are the requirements we have to receive these blessings!
We just need to fear Him, with a reverent fear, trusting that He I showing us the best thing in our lives, the best way to go, the best thing to do.
Its pretty easy, and yet we make it so hard. Selah!
Heavenly Father, help us to trust You more with our lives and to allow You to direct us where we should go, and do in our lives to give you glory, in Jesus’ name, amen.
