Is there a lot on your plate?

Dailies~ In His Word
September 2019

So Jesus said, “Are you also still without understanding? Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.  For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.  These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.” Matthew 15:16-20

When I read this portion over again I think about the wording.
“Jesus said, “Are you still without understanding?”
I guess we are not the only ones hard of understanding...

Do you still not get it?

The more important part of our lives is not what shows on the outside, it’s not what we eat or do not eat, what is important is what is in our heart. What really matters is what we speak, because that reveals our heart.
The things that come out show if we are full of envy, jealousy, hate, etc. The mouth spits out all kinds of evil, we speak such horrible things in this world. Judgment is shown when we speak!
When we eat meat or vegetables or candy or soda, that is not always a good health choice but it has nothing to do with our spiritual life. What we eat or do not eat will not stop us from going to heaven.
In face we are told not to judge people about their food, and to eat what is provided for us so as not to cause another to be offended. Our purpose is to bring peace, love, joy and kindness to those around us not condemnation. Only the Holy Spirit can examine our spirit, but we can examine our heart and know if we are right before God, no one else but God can do that.
So let’s do this today! Let’s check in with God and ask Him to reveal anything bad, evil, mean, or disgusting in our hearts, lets ask Him to show us so that we can make things right with God and man. Remember the truth will set us free, free from shame, anger, sorrow and in some cases pain.

Let’s trust Him with our heart healing today; in Jesus’ name let’s be cleansed in the Spirit and sing songs of joy and thankfulness.
Heavenly Father, help us to stand before you with a right heart today. Help us to constantly be clean and fresh before you, in Jesus’ name, amen.
