Dailies in His Word

Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you
will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s
desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will
help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will
shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.
Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked
schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do
not lose your temper, only leads to harm, for
the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. Psalm
37 3-9
Psalm
37 is one of my favorite psalms and it reaches out to me for so many things. I especially
like how it shares direction for us to trust the Lord but to ‘do good,’ not to
trust him and be angry or frustrated at certain situations but to give it all
to Jesus. Once we give it to the Lord we are to trust Him again! Trust Him to
help us, and be still waiting patiently…for Him to act. Not us! So how do we do that? How can we deal
with situations that make upset? We give it all to Him, commit to Him and allow
Him to direct our path to the place were we will shine like the bright dawn and
bright like a noon time sunshine. When we see things happening and we step back
and do not get ourselves all upset over things but just allow them to play
themselves out then we will find the peace we seek and we will inherit the
land, or possess the land as some versions say. We will receive the thing we
are trusting God for only when He thinks it is time.
If we
get all upset over things it does not make the wait any easier and we can be
tempted to sin. When we allow anger or frustration to come out in words we can
hurt others or worse, we could cause someone else to sin. I think to day I need
to focus on the positive and trust God to take care of the details! It will all
come out the way He plans so why not just remember to do well, and trust Him
today?
I would
have lost heart, unless I had believed
Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:13-14
Heavenly
Father, thank you for Psalm 37 that reaches to our hearts and minds in so many
times and ways of need. Thank you for Your Word, in Jesus’ name amen,
