But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to
your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to
self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to
brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and
abound, you will be neither barren nor
unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted,
even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more
diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things
you will never stumble; for so an
entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:5-10-11
It’s a matter of math!
Adding to our faith, virtue, knowledge, self control, perseverance,
godliness, brotherly kindness, and love! Then we add up to the sum of being fruitful
in the knowledge of Jesus Christ!
The more we add the more we grow more like Him. The more we grow
more like Him the more we will build the kingdom of God. Of course the Kingdom
only grows when we share that Gospel story and bring others into the math game!
When we are doing all of this we will be fulfilling our call! It is true! These
things are important to be building up in ourselves or we will not be able to
do the fulfilling part of our call. Then we will not be fruitful; unless we
build on our faith! Did you read the words “all diligence” that means to
totally focus on it and work at it, it wont come any other way. We have to work
at gaining the things listed up there. Be consistent; be strong in your desire
to be like Jesus today. Persevere to gain godliness and give out brotherly
kindness this week, in Jesus’ name!
Heavenly Father help us to do Your will in all that you have us
do. Help us to fulfill our call to be fruitful and multiply your kingdom one
soul at a time. In Jesus’ name amen.
