Dailies & In His Word ~
Are you walking in the counsel
of the World or the Word? There are many
who think they are walking with godly counsels who have not truly paid
attention to what the people are saying to them. They do not weigh the words
with the Word but instead look at the way the people in the world are doing
things.
They listen to false
religions that tell them how they should act like everyone else instead of separating
themselves from among them and being different.
As a Christian we need to
sanctify ourselves and be pure before God. That is not to say we are perfect or
that we are infallible but that we try to walk a life pleasing to God weighing
the words we hear and instructions that we read or hear with the Word of God,
our Bibles.
If we have cleansed ourselves
by asking God to forgive us our trespasses, then we have a pure heart before
God. To keep it that way we must me focused on doing what the Word of God tells
us to do. Not just what we think is good for us, or right, as the world teaches.
After all the day is coming
in which we will stand before the Lord, He has not slacked off but has the
perfect timing selected in order to come again.
Beloved, I now write to you this second
epistle (in both of which I
stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be
mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and
of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this
first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to
their own lusts and saying,
“Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all
things continue as they were from
the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the
heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water,
by which the
world that then
existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire
until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, do not forget this one
thing, that with the Lord one day is as
a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is
long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that
all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:1-9
When God gives us a promise
it is just that, something that He has said and He will do, in His time. Now our
time is not His, we just read that, so we need to be patient with Him. We
should not get the idea that we are to do the thing ourselves or push the
issues but rather wait on the Lord; trust in the Lord and He will bring it to
pass!
Wait on the Lord;
be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:13-14
be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:13-14
For evildoers shall be
cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth. Psalm 37:9
Do not loose heart or
wonder what is keeping God, my friend, remember to hide this portion of the
Word in your heart that you may remember it when you are weak, and that you may
be made strong, in Jesus’ name!
Heavenly Father, thank
you for being there for us when we need you, and for Your promises to keep us
and grow us, and strengthen us as we keep our hope and our trust in You to do
so. Help us not to walk in our own path but where you have put us to walk. Help
us to listen to the Words you have spoken into the hearts of man that He may
write it out and speak it out to our ears and hearts, in Jesus’ name, amen.
