Dailies ~ in His Word

September 2019

Some days there seems to be a lot of turmoil or stressful situations around us. They only seem that way but we can easily pickup on the emotions flying and get entangled with the problems that arise. When this happens it is like a hurricane crashing into our thought patterns and sometimes we can become overwhelmed with the whole moment in time. Words fly, and not always good ones, tears fall and suddenly you remember. There is no reason for all of this!  What ever happened is temporal, it will pass and God is still on the throne! He has not left you hanging!

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

Come; behold the works of the Lord, who has made desolations in the earth.  He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:7-10

God is good and He will sweep in and calm our storm, our emotions and take away the fears that plague you or I let Him!  Lets remember that He said Peace be still! Remember that he said to be still and know that He is God!

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. Mark 4:39

Remember the story? There was a storm it was causing the disciples of Jesus to worry that they would sink but Jesus was asleep. When they awoke Him he just said the words and the storm calmed, the seas calmed and it was nice weather again!

He wants to do that for us today! He wants us to reach out and cry out and ask for His help. Then He will say; Peace be still.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your peace. Thank you for the stillness in our hearts and minds today as we focus on Your Word and on You. In Jesus’ name amen.
