Dailies& In His Love 8-5-19
I find the following scriptures are
used a lot separately but today I came across them in looking up a reference
someone gave me and it felt like a new area once they were pieced together.
Thinking about this I realize that
many of the verses we know can be misused or misquoted easily alone but when
you tie them up with their support team its so much stronger!
Let
your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at
hand.
Be
anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever
things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever
things are pure, whatever things are lovely,
whatever things are of good report, if there is any
virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these
things. Philippians 4:5-8
We are
to be gentle on the outside, not just our inner spirit but in our actions
toward people around us and even pets we should show kindness and gently share
the love of God with others. Sometimes that’s not so easy, because people are
not always behaving in a way that we want them that makes us feel kind or
gentle. Some people can seem scary to approach or deal with in any manner let
alone being gentle toward them. Gods
word follow that up with being anxious for nothing but praying first, and
thanking God. He places us in a place to
be kind to people who may not have been treated kind I a long time, they may
seem rough on the outside but on the inside they are as human as the rest of
us.
When
we pray God can help us to be full of peace and remember the things to think
about are what the real purpose of being kind and being gentle and encouraging
to people no matter how they are acting, or even how they treat us; to share
the Love of God with the lost so they can find Him too!
That’s
where the think on these things comes in seriously! We need to remember to
think on the right things, not allow ourselves to be persuaded to give up when
someone does not respond in kind, but to continue on in our path.
Don’t
worry about it! Don’t let the people out there pull you down but instead be full
with the Spirit and remind yourselves the words of His Word, the Bible! If you cannot approach a person because they
are behaving badly just pray where you are! One day I saw someone while driving,
and I prayed for her not knowing what she was going through but at the time I
felt that she needed something. She looked lost but even as I realized I could
not have stopped anywhere I knew she would probably run from me had I asked her
to pray. So with the thinking on these things I a sure that God is awesome and
He can work where we cannot! They say He
will make a way for us, and we can know that if we pray, God has that person in
the palm of His hands to do what we ask in His name. That person has a better
chance if we pray for her than if we just notice and ignore them.
Today
keep your eyes open for someone hurting, or looking distraught; lift them up to
the Lord even if you do not know their name, in tenderness and peace.
Lord,
help us to reach the lost, in prayer and in deed, In Jesus’ name, amen.
