And make straight steps with your
feet: that no one, halting, may go out of the way; but rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness: without which no
man shall see God. Looking diligently, lest any man be wanting to the grace of
God; lest any root of bitterness springing up do hinder, and by it many be
defiled. Heb 12 13-15
Make the path clear!
The Lord told me this morning this quick instruction from such an
amazing group of scriptures, I read the first few lines and that is what I
heard, so I read a few different examples of the text. In the Easy Reader
version it says to ‘make the way clear’.
In most of them it talks about doing this by getting rid of
the sin that tries to taunt you to pull you into the life you used to desire to
live, but God is tell you to make the way straight and clear the path so that
He can speak. It is not about making it straight so you can see where you are
going, though that alone would we worth it!
He says this then says do not ignore Him. (Hebrews 12:25)When speaks
through someone else pay attention and know that if you try to ignore Him He
will make it known to you that He knows and He will chastise you. God will not
make it easy for you to continue sinning in ignoring His clear direction. Even
if you ignore it God knows you heard…
Selah? Stop and think about what that means to you.
For me make the path clear can mean many things, I get things in my life that clutter things
up, a lot of it is because I do not know how to say “no” to people who ask of
me to help them do things, or get them places, or what not. I have been told
today that I must make the path clear for Hearing from Him. I will ponder this today and continue this
tomorrow! I know that when I hear from God I must respond, I could try to ignore
it but His word says not to so that would be sin. I want to throw off all the
sin that hinders or slows my walk down.
What will I throw off today? The clutter of ‘to do’s’ in my life.
That may mean we have to get rid of people in our lives that
cause us stress, and clutter our lives with useless things to do that are not
part of God’s plan for us but that we allow out of fear of offending
someone. What will you throw off today?
Heavenly Father, show us what to get rid of in our lives,
help us to have a clear path and walk where You show us to walk with not
temptations or distractions in Jesus’ name, that we may hear Your voice! In
Jesus’ name, amen.
