What is faith?
Now faith is the substance of
things to be hoped for, the evidence of things that appear not. For by this the ancients obtained a testimony. By faith we understand that the world was framed by the
word of God; that from invisible things visible things might be made. Hebrews 11:1-2(DRA)
It is a substance;
it is a way of understanding that the world and other things in it were created
by God from basically nothing. Faith
tells us it is possible when the obvious reality around us says it is
impossible. Faith is the thing that makes it possible to please God, because He
justifies us by our faith. Without faith we cannot please Him because we would
not believe in Him.
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

It is something to live by
according to Galatians 3:11
There is also a song that says
Faith is trusting in a great big God who can move a mountain or calm a sea. He takes
care of you and me. So from this
inference we come to believe that Faith is trust. According to the 2nd Chapter of
James faith produces works and grows by it is shown and known by works. As stated above it is something to live by.
The entire chapter of Hebrews 11 is
often called the Faith chapter because it reminds us of so many times in
History when people had faith that God would do as He said and He did. Amongst
impossible odds God always comes through; believing this is faith.
Heavenly father help us to trust
you and have faith that you have our best interest in mind always, even when it
feels like the world is falling apart around us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
