Dailies~ In His
Word
If we are right with God we will know the truth and it will
truly set us free. I know I probably wrote that three times this week in some
way or another but it is resonating with me today.
Jesus therefore said to them:
When you shall have lifted up the Son of man, then shall you know, that I am
he, and that I do nothing of myself, but as the Father hath taught me, these
things I speak: and he that sent me, is with me, and he hath not left me
alone: for I do always the things that please him. When he
spoke these things, many believed in him. Then Jesus said to those Jews, who
believed him: If you continue in my word, you shall be my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and
the truth shall make you free. John 8: 28-32
He had been arguing with the Pharisees after forgiving a woman of
adultery and His right to do so was in question. I found it amazing to see this
part where He said right out there that He and God are together as one yet they
were blind because they were not right with God. They could not see the truth.
Sometimes when we talk with people they do not see, or hear the truth
because they are not in right mind at the moment. We sometimes are not
accepting that we do not know what we should know because we think we are
smarter than we are as humans. But God
knows more! He knows if we are knowledgeable about a subject or not and He can
call us on the mark if we step out not in faith believing something to be true
that is not. He alone knows our very heart’s thoughts. We need to be sure our
hearts and minds are lined up with the Truth in His Word so that we too will be
able to accept the frailties that are ours.
For then we can change to be better, and become more like Him. He forgave her sins, He has forgiven us ours,
now lets go and do likewise. Forgive our brothers and sisters in this world and
walk according to His truth in the Word. Don’t put someone else on a higher standard
that you have for yourself.
Heavenly Father, help us to forgive and to walk forward with a clean
heart and life, in Jesus’ name, amen.
