Dailies ~in His
Word

What do you do when it gets hard to walk? Do you stop? Do
you work harder? Or do you press on?
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the
excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not
crushed; we are perplexed, but
not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not
destroyed—2 Corinthians 4:7-9
…so that one way or
another I will experience the resurrection from the dead! I don’t mean to say that I have
already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I
press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear
brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing:
Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, Philippians
3:11:14
The Bible tells us to press on and by that it means keep
going do not give up just keep swimming! It’s all about keeping things in
perspective. Our problems only have as much power as we allow them to have over
our days. It is not a matter of becoming a Christian and no longer having problems
but it is the knowing how to deal with the problems as they come. We can either
get all upset, share the upset feelings with others who most likely will in
turn give up their own good attitude and follow us because we are us, and they
somehow like us. Or we can trust God to get through it with us and seek Him for
guidance, and help, and even peace over what we have as a problem.
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord, and in
serving we will grow closer to God and His will for our lives. In doing this we
will get a clue about how to handle stressful things that will come into our
lives from time to time. Who to give it up to!
It is not always easy trying to live right before God but it
is the best choice.
Heavenly Father, help us to grow more like you and to walk
in peace with You each day, in trouble or good times, in Jesus’ name, amen.
