Dailies ~in His Word
May 2019
Oh Give thanks to the Lord for He is good for His mercy
endures forever. This was more than just a scripture to me growing up because
my family said it as our prayer before dinner. I was not sure what I was
praying then, because I didn’t really know God yet but as time went by I said
that over and over day by day, eventually it must have sunk in. I decided that
I believed in God as My Lord Jesus and that was the beginning of a long term
relationship with Him!
These days it seems relationships change with a Twitter or
Face book post but one relationship will last forever. The one relationship that
started when He told me He died for me so I didn’t have to worry that I had to
save someone else from dying. He had already saved them too!
It’s funny but sometimes we try to do what God already has
in His control and we have to remind ourselves that we are human with human
abilities whereas God is omnipotent with infinite abilities. Though it may be
because of the fact we are created to be like Him that we try to fix things
ourselves in life. From running a ministry, to making financial ends meet a
budget; we need to have God in control directing our path and giving us a heads
up when we start to go the wrong way. I learned early on in my ‘Christian walk’
that without Him we are nothing. I would really be homeless or living alone if
it were not for having invited Christ into my heart and life.
Think about it, I met my husband in Church, together we put
Christ as the center of our marriage and try to live according to His guidance
and through that we have received promises and blessings beyond measure! We
have three young adults serving God in their own respective lives and that is a
lot to say in these days. None of this would be this way had I not accepted the
fact that Jesus was real. So without Him, I have nothing.
I am a Christian writer, without Him I have nothing to write
in this genre.
I am a ‘good person’ they say but I would never have a
chance to be good enough to get to heaven if it were not for Jesus.
Stop for a moment and ask yourself where would you be
without Him?
Is He your confident, your love, your abba father, your life
coach, your friend today?
Heavenly Father, thank you for being all we need, want and are blessed with that matters in this life. Help us to share your
love with others in a way that they will see You in us. In Jesus name, amen.
