Dailies ~ and in His Word
May 27, 2019
Do you
ever feel like you are not getting what you want out of life?
The
things that we do are things that we learn, but are we learning how to become
selfish or are we learning to live life to its fullest? And how do we know for
that matter?
God
gives us the answers in His Word, but we do need to know that these things will
not happen unless we get in His face and ask for help. We will not know what to
do if we do not take the time seeking Him and reading the Word. If we do not
live our lives in a way that these things are a part of it then when we get
depressed, and we have no clue what to do. But if we get depressed and we are
in the Word, we will have back up thoughts to renew our minds with and battle
each thought.
Abide in Me, and
I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the
vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. John 15:4
If your
desire is to bare good fruit, help others and such then get closer to God and
people who will feed you spiritually, or pour into you with encouragement. Do
not stay alone in your depression. Keep your mind on things above, not on the
things that do not work for you. If we focus on the negative we will live in the
negative; focus on the positive!
I know
some people have a physical reason for depression but that is not the end of
it; my God has conquered all of this! He has produced doctors who know how to
fix the physical.
My God
has the answers in His Word, He said that we bear the fruit of what we put in.
So I thought I should send these brothers ahead of me to
make sure the gift you promised is ready. But I want it to be a willing gift,
not one given grudgingly. Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get
a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And
don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who
gives cheerfully.” 2 Corinthians 9:5-7
“If you love Me, keep My
commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide
with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it
neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be
in you. I will not
leave you orphans; I will come to you. John 15:15-18
If we
follow His commands then we will find the help we seek, He will keep us in
perfect peace if our mind is stayed on Him. People do not always understand or ‘get’
this. But I can say it with a believing heart that even when your child is born
beyond blue and no brain waves, or breathe or barely a heart beat you can feel
peace if your mind is on Him and His promises.
When your husband is on a ship in the Persian Gulf escorting ships through a dangerous straight of Omar and you hear of the exact ship type blowing up from a mine and you can check your heart and know with perfect peace that he is okay, because your mind is stayed on Him daily!
The Holy
Spirit is not just here to do miraculous healings or show us signs and wonder’s,
the Holy Spirit is with us to keep us focused on the things of God, the things
that matter in life. It is not about us! Our lives are not about just what
makes you or me happy. Sure, its part of that because what parent does not want
their children to be happy?
Life is
so much more, whether we fight depression off or illness, God does not want us
focused on that. Something’s we have to
live with, poverty, illness, prosthetic, etc, but other things we can let
go and let God, through the Holy Spirit
minister to our hearts and minds and show us the path to take.
Our job
is to follow the path put before us and hope, trust, and love the Lord our God
with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind, and all of our
strength! It s not about how good we
feel, it is about what good we can do with God. You know we tend to forget that
God gave us this life and He had a plan to do something with it. If we do not
know what that plan is we probably are not staying focused on the Word.
Let’s make
it a plan to get more focused. Think about it, meditate on the Word of God and
see what God is going to do with the predicament that we are in right now. Ask for His help in deciding the next big
thing in your life; ask Him to direct you in the little things too! The Holy Spirit, or Comforter, is here for
just such a time as this!
Heavenly
Father, help us to stay focused on You and Your plan for us. Help us to do Your
will in our lives and see how things will just fall into place the way You have
it planned for us to live it. Give us the comfort of the Holy Spirit and give
us peace even in the midst of our depressive world. In Jesus’ name, amen.
