Pursue peace with
all people, and holiness, without which no one will see
the Lord: looking
carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root
of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
Hebrews 12:14-15
Strive
for peace with everyone. It does not come naturally of course because we are
humans after all. We are basically selfish even if we do not admit it to
ourselves we live with our own lives in our minds at all times. Then we work at thinking of the others first.
Being
blessed and not stressed is something that I have made my life motto, it takes
work at working to feel blessed in the middle of a mess. You have to look for
things to find encouragement sometimes. I cannot do it myself but God can! I
strive to, and try to live at peace with everyone, and in the middle of
stressful situations it is not always easy. God’s Word comes to us when we need
it. The only way it can come to us is if we hide it in our heart, if we read it
often and study to show ourselves approved rightly dividing the Word in truth…
Its like
what is a common statement today, “know God know peace”. He alone can live us
the peace that passes understanding in situations beyond our control.
All
Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make
us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and
teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every
good work.
Or in another version it reads; All scripture is divinely inspired and profitable for teaching,
for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man
of God may be complete fully fit to every good work.
In John
16:33, Jesus says ‘these things I have spoken to you that in Me you my have
peace, in the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer! I have
overcome the world!’
In another
scripture, Mark 4:39 he says “Peace be still”. We can remember when the world
comes at us and our friends become distant. When you can’t find a job and the
rent is too high. Peace be still! When your life plan goes haywire and nothing fits
the mold…Peace be still! The storms will come and go but God says Peace, do not
worry for He is! He is with you in all you do, even to the ends of the earth!
Heavenly Father, thank you for your peace! Help me to be still and just listen to You. In Jesus name, amen.
