Dailies ~ In His Word
May 2019

What do you do when you think you know what you a e doing is what God wants you to do and things go off kilter?
It’s not always a bad thing that happens, not like with Joseph who would go through slavery to get to His promise. Nor is it always as big as the Israelite's getting through the dessert years to get to their promised land. No, sometimes it’s a matter of God changing things in your life that keeps you from having an issue that is not good. Sometimes God brings you to a place where you have to step up and lead a group of people to victory a different way like with Gideon.
Gideon was a man who did not think much of himself. He describes himself as the weakest man from the weakest family in the weakest group from that family’s tribe of Israel. God saw Him and made him the mighty man of valor that he intended Gideon to be.
And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”  Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” Judge 6:12-14
God saw Gideon as the strong and brave man of God He was going to be, even thought Gideon saw that things were not going the way they should have been.
God too Gideon and stretched his faith by making him lead an army of few men to conquer a nation.
So when things are not going as we think they will, we need to think about people in the past that changed jobs in mid stream; Gideon went from a thresher to a mighty man of valor! Big differences can happen when we put our trust in Him.
Heavenly Father, help us to see ourselves as You see us and have the boldness and clarity to step up and trust You bravely going where we have not gone before! That we may do your will, and know Your plan for us.  In Jesus name, amen.
