Dailies ~ In His Word
May 16, 2019
Eloi Eloi Lamasabachtani! He cried
out from the cross what was written in Psalm 22. Why have you forsaken me? My God, My God, why have You
forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me,
and from the words of My groaning?
O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; and in the night season, and am not silent. But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; they trusted in You, and were not ashamed. Psalm 22:1-4

Have you
cried this out in your days, or your nights? Have you been feeling lately that
God has forgotten you in your life of sorrow or stress? Don’t give up! Really!
Years
ago I cried these words out, from the depths of my soul I cried them out as I
drove home in pain, while my three oblivious to my plight children sat in the
back seat of the van I drove in. My pain had been too long. I could not lift my
toddler without pain, I could not hold a cup of coffee without weakness. I had
prayed and prayed and had others pray. I had people tell me to get the sin out
of my life, I had done everything there was to do. Apparently I did not have
enough faith for my healing. At least that was what I figured anyway.
I wanted to have the faith of the centurion, of the woman with
the issue of blood. I longed to hear Mark 5:34.
And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”
Mark 5:34
But
God’s timing is not my timing, His ways are not my ways. It was not about me. I
had to suffer a little while in order to be a blessing and a witness to
another.
Sometimes
we just have to accept things as they are until the time comes for God to
change them. So we do our best, we work hard doing what is right and hope, pray
and trust that God is still in control. We study to show ourselves approved,
and we believe that He will bring it to pass.
In
His time.
Heavenly
Father, We know Your ways are not our ways and that You know way better when
and where things should happen. Help us to follow your lead and trust You. Even
when we do not understand why. In Jesus name. amen
