How do you know? In His Word-4-1-19

How do you know? In His Word- April 1, 2019

Today is a day in at least our country that we have a lot of pranks and jokes pulled on us. In keeping with this, its sometimes hard to realize what is truth and what is a gag.
The good news is we shall know the Truth!
Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Psalm 51:6

  And Jesus said:

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. John 14:16-18

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31-32
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him" John 14:5-7

So if we know the Father God, we know Jesus and if we know Jesus we know the Holy Spirit that dwells with us and keeps us in the palm of His hand.
Sometimes it is not so easy to remember this set of scriptures; sometimes we are more like Thomas when it comes to life issues. We cry out and ask “Where were you God?” when things do not go how we think they should.
When someone passes away, or we loose our house or spouse or other cherished thing or person; we may wonder where God went, but He is right there with us.
In retrospect we can sometimes see where God took care of us even when we thought He had forgotten us. But He was still  there. It is not a matter of us forgetting that He exists because we but need to watch the flowers of spring bloom and the leaves of fall turn magnificent colors that we have proof that He exists. But how do we know He is who He says He is? How do we know that we have the Holy Spirit guiding us through our lives?
Just ask of Him and He will give the nations… He gave His life already to show us His love for us.
If you want proof, it is in His Word. If you want truth it is in His Word. If you want direction, guidance, hope, help, He has written it in the Bible for us to look to!
Check back through some notes you have taken in the past read through them and see what God has done with what you wrote.
Today I was asking a certain thing of my God to show me how I know He knows me.
He directed me to scriptures, plus my own notes inspired by His Holy Spirit!  Talk about a “duh what?” moment when I read over notes I had written myself at church listening to a preacher that spoke to the thoughts on my mind today! I don’t have a date for the notes but it was within a years time that He knew I would need them and today as I picked up a little used notebook to write some thoughts on today’s reads I found my own notes speaking to me through the Holy Spirit directing my path to them!
Sometimes the path we follow is in His Word, not on the ground!

To find out anything you wonder if it is right for you to do, you can look in the Word of God and there will be an answer. Seek Him in prayer and then look for the answers in His Word.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for giving us this Bible, Your Word, to guide us on our daily walk with You. Help us to find the hope we need for today, the directions for tomorrow as we glean from Your breath of life! Breathe on us today Holy Spirit and open our eyes to see and ears to hear what You have for us in Jesus’ name, amen.
