Dailies ~ In His Word
April 1, 2019
Growing up we were taught to be ‘good’
and not to lie, and to obey the rules. Try as we did it was nearly impossible
to do everything on the rules list and so God send Jesus into our lives. He
made it so we do not have to be perfect but we can be forgiven. Does this mean
we do not have to try to be good? No! Of course not, it means we can ask
forgiveness when we sin, or disobey rules and we can ask Him to cleanse us from
the impurities in our lives.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your
presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your
salvation, and uphold me by Your generous
Spirit. Then I will teach
transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Psalm
51:10-13
When we are full up on the things of the world we come to
Jesus and repent, but what about when we are saved and we have to work in the
world? How do we keep ourselves clean? We pray that psalm and trust that God
will direct our paths to the right places to not have to be pulled down by the
world but be able to lift the people up to Him!
Heavenly Father, help me to know my heart is pure before
you and that I can bring others to Your saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, that
they too may have clean hearts and minds, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
