Dailies ~ in His Word
April 4, 2019
One day after
speaking about the parables of the growing seed and the mustard seed Jesus told
his disciples to cross over to the other side of the sea. He then proceeded to take a nap apparently
because his disciples woke Him sometime later asleep on a pillow while water
was coming in due to a storm. The guys
woke Him up and cried “Teacher do you not care that we are sinking?” (Perishing)
Basically they
were crying “We’re all going to die!”
Then Jesus arose.
He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace be still!” And the wind ceased
and there was a great calm. He turned and said to the men, “Why are you so
fearful? Why is it that you do not have faith?
Taken from scriptures in Mark 4:35-41
It is also found in Matthew 8:23-27 and Luke 8:22-25.
This morning the words that came to me in song were “Peace
be still, say the word and I will calm the raging of the seas…” the song goes
on to talk about trusting, having faith in Him. Believe. He say’s to believe
that it is so, that He will do it and trust Him and believe is what is on my
heart today. I am about to embark on an adventure that will not be as exciting
if there is not sunshine. I pray today for calm, I feel it in my heart but I
trust that My God will calm the seas for me too! If I believe! Sometimes we
have to pray “Lord I believe help my unbelief!” Today I feel the calm that He showed me in the
song.
Heavenly Father, show us the calm in our lives today, give
is peace to be still and know that You are in the outcome! In Jesus name, amen.
