Flipping
through the Psalms always gives me joy! Look in the first one it even talks of
the reason we have joy.
When we
follow the plan that God puts before us and trust Him to direct our path then
we will find joy, we will prosper in all that we do.
The
option to just winging it all the time and doing everything without checking in
with God is not as enjoyable! We can heed the advice of other believers and
still walk in the right path, or look in the Word, or just plain pray.
Oh, the joys of those who so not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord,meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. Psalm 1:1-3
As long
as we are in the Word of God and weighing our plans to what He has done in it,
then we can be sure we are lining up with His plan for us.
It
encourages me to remember this and to think on these things.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8
Heavenly Father, help us to think the right
things, and to follow the right people that we would follow the path You have laid
out before us. Keep our ears from hearing the things that would pull us away.
