Dailies ~ In His Word

Do you know how far the east is from the west? Do you know how deep the deepest sea is? God does, He planned it to be that way.
These questions came to me this morning as I read my daily reading in Micah. The book God keeps bringing me back to! I also read in Psalm 47 for my psalm a day!

Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean! You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago. Micah 7:18-20

It is funny how God will keep bringing you to a place until it hits you why!
Our God is amazing, not only can He create the whole world but when Adam and Eve break the rule He gave them to keep them in close contact, He forgave them and just sent them on to live a life that took more work than it would have.
When Moses chose to strike the rock in anger instead of striking Moses ( as we know He could have very well done) He allowed an ancient Moses to see the promised land he had lead the people to!

Even the thieves hanging on the cross with Him had the chance to be forgiven. Though one chose to and one did not.  What do you think? Would you have cared enough to accept Christ’s forgiveness when He said from the cross; “Father forgive them for they know not what they do…”? I would hope so!
When we forgive someone for hurting us, or for tripping us up, it frees us up as well. Its not about just us, its about doing the will of the Father, with Jesus’  example.
He forgives us, so we should forgive others, in Jesus name!

Heavenly Father, help us to forgive, not just forget the wrongs against us in the past, and help us to be strong in Your power and Your might, in Jesus’ name, amen.
