Dailies ~in His Word
March 2019-1
Let
all that I am wait quietly before God, for
my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my
fortress where I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6
I
love to read the psalms as I wait quietly before my God for His deliverance,
healing or encouragement each day. The early hours are my most precious moments
and I give them only to Him, and an occasional cat. I find it interesting that
my cat know that when I am sitting in prayer, or reading my Bible in the
mornings it is okay to come and sit by me but not to bother me.
My
children used to do the same, one of them though ventured out and knelt beside
me one day and with a bottle in his teeth he placed a hand on my back as if in
prayer. I believe he did pray that day as he was given this visual of how to do
this every day.
When
we spend time with God alone, or almost alone when you are a mother of young
children; He draws not only you but your whole household into His presence. We
can trust that all will be well when we are basking in His presence and just truly
enjoying our time there.
When
is the last time you sat quietly and just waited for Him to draw you into His presence?
How about today? What about now? Take a moment and read the full Psalm 62.
Think on it and on the God of your salvation. He only is the One who can save
you, protect you, and guide you all in one conversation.
Stop
now, pray and sit quietly.
Sometimes
I grab my cup of coffee or tea and sit there on the couch in the wee hours of
the morning and just listen for His still small voice to speak to my heart and
mind. It is my prayer that you will experience
this closeness with God today.
Heavenly
Father, draw us nearer through Your Holy Spirit and help us to know that You
really are near. In Jesus’ name, amen
