Dailies~ In His Word
Day 8 February
Luke 4 is a great read.
There is a portion that elaborates on Jesus talking in his
own town, and the wisdom He gives; yet they still saw him as he was known to
be. Jesus did not allow their view of him to hinder His mission, he moved on.
So He came to Nazareth,
where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the
synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He was handed the
book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place
where it was written: “The Spirit
of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of the sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." Luke 4:16-18
We need to do the same, just because your friends see you
as the person you are around them before God calls you don’t let them keep you
from walking in His direction and His goal, His calling for you. Step out in
faith and obey God, not man. If it is truly God calling you then He will make a
way when you think it will never happen. You may find out after you are already
walking in that path that God had been orchestrating things all around you and
you just did not notice it. Walk in His guidance.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not in your
own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your
path.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Heavenly Father, help us to continue on our walk even if
those around us do not see us as You do. Your eyes see us as we will be, not as
we have been. Jesus name, amen.
