Dailies ~in His Word

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep
His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His
commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love
of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself
also to walk just as He walked. 1 John 2:3-8
There
is a lot of talk about knowing Jesus, and ‘what would Jesus do’ and all of
that. Where does it come from? It comes
from the Word of God my friends! If we
say that we know Jesus then we will desire to o what He does, speaking words of
wisdom, praying for the sick to be healed, doing what God would have us do even
when it is hard. Think for a moment, Jesus did the hardest thing and He did it
because He loves us. Now I don’t expect we will have to die to do what Jesus
did, but we can die to our selfish ways and do what would be better for other
people than us.
That
is how we know that we are part of His family, when we do what He would do and
love, talk and walk as He walked.
Let’s
do our best to exemplify Christ in us that others my also have the hope of
glory some day. Let’s think before we speak, look before we walk and just love
on people around us every day.

when it’s hard!
Heavenly
Father, thank you for helping us to do what You want us to do, and to act like
You with the help of the Holy Spirit in us. Give us the courage, strength and
hope needed to show that we really do know You. Help us to know You more each
day. Hug after hug. In Jesus name, Amen.
