Dailies –In His Word
February 9, 2019
The story of Us. I just watched a movie by the title and it made me think of my story. Not the romantic love story of my whirlwind courtship of one date and one car crash before being proposed to, though I did think a little on that one. Who wouldn’t?
I thought about the story of Christ and us. Each of us has a story to tell, but it begins with not the creation of the world but the connection of the Holy Spirit via Jesus Christ in our lives.
For me the final thing that got my attention was the fact that He died for me, but not just me other people I knew and loved. One particular one who had attempted suicide made me wish I could die for them at one point so they would live for me. Once I had that thought I heard in my thoughts “I already died for (person).” I knew it was Jesus’ story that He died for us and that was about the most pointed thing that brought me to realize that yes Jesus died for my friend and that was a reason for them to live. This person did live for many years after that time, and it may be because I began praying for that person shortly after learning how to pray, or it may be that person just realized it was not up to them. Either way, if you know someone who feels so distraught they want to die, maybe tell them the story of Us. Jesus loved us so much that He died so we all have a reason to live. It may help, it may not, but it is the best love story. Jesus dying for us. We need to seek Him and find out what our purpose for being here is. Then walk in it!
For God so loved the world (us) that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting live! John 3:16.
Live for Him!
Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus dying so we can live! Help us live worthy of our calling and live for Him. In Jesus name, amen
