Humble yourself
in the sight of the Lord today and He will lift you up.
James
4:7 says God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. We are told over
and over to humble ourselves in the presence of God. Yet we choose to be proud
and strong in our own power and our own might. God wants us to submit to His
plans, His presence and His dreams for us.
We are
tempted by this world to follow it’s dreams and desires but our God says to “resist
the devil and he will flee from us” James 4:8 says that we should “Draw near to
God and He will draw near to you.” So it seems to me that we are to humble
ourselves and get closer to God so that we will see what His plan is and then
we will see that it is good, dare I say even better than what we think we need.
Think though for a moment on that; God will lift us up when we humble ourselves
to Him. We work and we struggle to get things done in this world, to get the
prize of prosperity and happiness. Our God wants even more! He wants us to excel
beyond just earthy wealth and to have a healthy relationship with Him not just
man.
Let’s
humble ourselves before Him today and allow Him to take the controls, or the
wheel as the song says. Let God take over the direction finding gps! G- God’s
P- Perfect S-Specific, plan for us!
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your directing of our path, for Your
guidance today and every day that we humble ourselves to You. In Jesus name,
