Dailies in His Word
February 5
Don’t just pretend to
love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in
honoring each other. Never be lazy, but
work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Romans 12:9-11
Sometimes people are hard to love, some maybe your
enemies, but God wants us to love them just the same. The thing is if someone
is being mean to us generally they need more help than we do. Praying for them
is a good way to get to know them, and sometimes God will show you something
about them that is a reason they are mean in the first place.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and
sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:43-45
So think about it before you just write someone off
because of their behavior but instead work at peace with everyone; if you are
mean even in your thoughts you are just as bad as they are. God wants us to
love others, like He loves us, regardless of our faults.
Lets plan this week to work at loving one another, no
matter the circumstances. It does not
mean you have to hang with someone mean, but pray for them, show God’s love
toward them by lifting them up to God.
Heavenly father, thank you for loving us no matter what we
did, help us to love others too. Help us to hate the sin, and love the person.
In Jesus name, amen.
