Give God the Glory In His Word 2-4-19

In His Word 2-4-19
Did you ever get a word from God and not know what to do with it?
You know some one comes to church tells you God said blah blah blah  and you stand there thinking… “What can I do with that?”
Joseph got a word from God, in the form of a couple of dreams. He went out and told his brothers all about it; and look what happened! They got him thrown in a hole, sold as a slave, and eventually thrown into a dungeon. The good news here is that Joseph ended up being Pharaoh’s right hand man eventually; also, his dreams actually came true when his family came to ask him for help not knowing it was him!
Sometimes when we get a word from God it is for now, other times it is for the future.
Peter was told that he would deny that he even knew Jesus and he did not believe it.
Yet, just as Jesus told him he did. Jesus still forgave Peter but Peter felt such sorrow for the Lord knew and had told him and he could do nothing to stop himself.
Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’
 “But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.” Peter said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be.
 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.”
 But he spoke more vehemently, “If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” And they all said likewise. Mark 24:27-31
One thing we can learn from both of these men is not to be prideful in what God says to us. We need to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord and allow Him to do the boasting of us, not ourselves. If God has a thing for us to do, and I believe He has a call for each of us, then we need to just walk in it and not take up the plans ourselves but allow Him to do the work through us.
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it;
unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep. Psalm 127:1-2

Paul had the right attitude when he wrote;
For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I’m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God’s church. But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace. So it makes no difference whether I preach or they preach, for we all preach the same message you have already believed.1 Corinthians 15:9-11
He gave God the glory, and that is what we should do whether we are doing good or just getting blessed we need to give God the attention for the Word of God He gives us to speak. For it is all the same story we share, though we go about it in different ways.
What ever God does in our lives we should share it with others just be careful how we say it. We need to be slow to speak and quick to listen.
Hear what He says in His Word, our Bibles, but think on it before we speak it out so that we will say the right thing.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to understand the words you have given us to read and to share with others. Help us to say the right things that will reach hearts and minds for You, that You would be glorified through us. In Jesus name, amen.
