Day 18
Sometimes we think we have life all figured out, we plan for it, we do
what we think we should do to get ahead and be the people we want to be and
then…
A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Proverbs
16:9
There are so many self help videos out on Social Media sites
that we all could get really taken by scammers easily, but God will not scam
us. He will direct us to the correct way to achieve financial success, and will
help us direct our funds the right way. It is not only in finances but, in romance,
and other friendships too. God wants
first place and to show us who to connect with.
As a child I learned early that being popular is not as
important as being good. As an adult I learned that looking for the right
people to spend life with was important enough to pray about, then to follow
God’s direction with.
He taught me to be a friend by telling me to be a friend
first, be the ‘me’ I want to be friends
with. I made some good ones over the years! It works!
Whatever the thing you are thinking about changing in your
life, put God first. Go ahead and plan.
The thing is we have to remember to run our plans by God to see if they
are indeed His plans before we get our hopes up. Many people will argue that if
we do it then it was God’s plan for us, but the argument of free will and
getting to make dumb choices could also be argued with David making some
foolish choices and killing people. Now
God took that bad and shaped it to become good but man makes some really dumb
choices. If we seek God, look to Him in what we want to do in life then He will
show us where to go and what to do to achieve the greatness in His eyes.
There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.
Proverbs 19:21
Heavenly Father, help us to remember to make you the CEO of our lives
and show us where to put our hearts, our minds, and our wallets this year and
always, in Jesus name, amen.
