Day 16
The book of James boils down to the
ultimate recap and directions for life. I had not realized until I began
studying it that it had a lot of answers that we seek daily, written down by
Jesus’ brother James for us to study and view along with references to
scriptures and points discussed by Jesus Himself. Though James does not
reference the actual spot and who said it, He does manage to show how closely
he walked with His brother’s teachings.
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles
of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For
you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully
developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1: 2-4
For instance, when things go wrong, or we
feel like we cannot get through a situation because it’s just not going the way
we planned; we should not fuss and complain about it but instead realize that
God has given us something to over come and gain grown against the wiles of the
devil. He would love for us to complain and groan but God wants us to find joy
in it! In the trial we will grow in endurance and be able to withstand even
greater problems that will no doubt come against us. If you look back on your
own life you will probably see in hindsight that God has helped you gain ground
in this situation in the past too. So let your faith and endurance grow as you
trust God to bring you the answers and direction to get out of the problems.
Whether it be strength to overcome weakness spiritually, physically or
emotionally, God will provide it as He sees the need and our trust put fully in
Him.
Let’s trust Him for help today, healing,
or strength to endure a difficult situation, it all comes through and from Him.
Heavenly Father, help us to endure today,
just as Jesus endured for us help us to be strong and withstand the wiles of
the enemy to grow closer to You. More of You. In Jesus name. amen.
