Living by
the Spirit- In His Word 5-21-18
Do you live life forgetting the things that are behind you or bind you? Do you live life in the Spirit?
So now
there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.
And because you belong to him, the power of the
life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of
Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So
God did what the law could not do. Romans 8: 1-3
When we are in Christ Jesus we
no longer live for the flesh or for worldly gain but this does not mean we have
to live life as an impoverished person. On the contrary, for we are heirs to
the Kingdom, and our father owns the cattle on a thousand hills! We live a life
as if we were as rich as the next person but on the same side we are helpful to
those around us. If we can help one person by being poor then how much more can
we help with wealth or even more?
Some may be called to excel in
the financial realm to reach those at that level to be able to help so many
more with their funds. Others may be called to be poor that they may reach
people on that level of life in a way the rich man could never reach them.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within
you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ
Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6
Whatever we do, do it as unto the Lord; do it as if it were
just for Jesus. Continue the work where
He has planted you until He says “It is finished…” Just like Jesus on the cross.
And
we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who
love God and are called according to his purpose for the, for
God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that
his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. and
having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he
gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he
gave them his glory.
Nothing Can Separate Us from
God’s Love
What
shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can
ever be against us? Since
he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also
give us everything else? Who
dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has
given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn
us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he
is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Can
anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves
us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute,
or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures
say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like
sheep.” No,
despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who
loved us. And I am convinced that
nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither
angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about
tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No
power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation
will ever be able to separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:28-39
A life of relationship with Christ is a life in
the Spirit. But whatever you do-- do it as unto the Lord.
Our lives
are not just for us to have fun and enjoy ourselves living the life we choose;
it is not about us! Our lives as a Christian ambassador is to bring the saving
Knowledge of Jesus Christ to those who seek to find the truth.
And what is the truth? This world shall one day fade, pass away; everything here is temporary. So why build walls that will just fall?
And what is the truth? This world shall one day fade, pass away; everything here is temporary. So why build walls that will just fall?
Why build a personal kingdom just to watch it
fall and crumble? The Word of God says
that kingdoms shall rise and fall, that there shall be rumors of wars and
earthquakes in diverse places and that we should not worry about it but that we
should take note of it and pay attention. Its not about us.
Romans 9:
12-17 tells us;
Therefore, brethren, we are
debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but
if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are
sons of God. For you
did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit
of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are
children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint
heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that
we may also be glorified together.
We know the truth and it sets
us free because of the Holy Spirit within us; the Spirit identifies with His
own. When we are walking in the spirit,
and living life in the spirit it does not mean we are living life not worrying
about tomorrow and partying all the time, spending all our time and money
having fun… it means we are paying attention to the times we live in and
seeking God’s direction and understanding in the things we need to be about
doing each day. God knows that just as with the prodigal sun we will one day
stand before our Abba father God and that He will give us His blessings or will
tell us we are unknown. The way that God the father and Jesus know is by His Spirit
within us.
The only way the Spirit is
there is when we ask Jesus into our lives, when we choose to believe in Jesus
we invite the Holy Spirit to work on our behalf.
So how do we walk in the
Spirit? We walk according to God’s will~ God’s plan~ in God’s Word!
Dear Heavenly Father, help us
to seek help in Your word for each day of our lives. Cause us to call to You that
we may hear the great and unspeakable things we do not know! Help us to walk
and live in Your Spirit; In Jesus name, Amen.
