What do you do? In His Word-5-29-18

What do you do? In His Word-5-29-18

What do you do when the world starts to go crazy just when you need to work? When the desk is piled high with 'to do's' and 'urgent' items? Or maybe you just got up and found the house a mess and you know it wasn't you... What do you do?
I get In His Word!  I get on my knees and pray or stand and fight in prayer!
I will not sit down and let the enemy have his way. I cry out to my God.

Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.  From the end of the earth I will cry to You. When my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
 For You have been a shelter for me; a strong tower from the enemy. Psalm 61: 1-3
He will keep us from loosing it when we are overwhelmed with work and circumstances. He will protect us, and give us a good place to rest; we can rest in His arms.

But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.  But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” Mark 4:38-40
Peace be still. That is what I need when the world gets all messy and life gets busy and we all go through moments that get us momentarily frazzled. That is when we have to stop, take a Selah moment and think about the scriptures.
We have to remember that ‘this too shall pass’ and things will work out one way or the other… the mess will be cleaned, the kids will be calmed, and the broken window will be fixed. The project at work will be done, the financial breakthrough will come. We only need to remember that God is in control and put our trust totally, really trust Him.

In You, O Lord, I put my trust; let me never be put to shame.
Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape;
Incline Your ear to me, and save me.
 Be my strong refuge,
To which I may resort continually;
You have given the commandment to save me,
For You are my rock and my fortress. Psalm 71:1-3

We only really need to remind ourselves that He is there in the mess with us. He will hear our cry and He will bring us to a place in our heart and mind that helps us to accept the things we cannot change and to change the things we can. He will show us how to gather the mess and where to put it. But we need to believe He will help us, we need to trust Him to do what the Word says.

Therefore I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me.
Do not rejoice over me, my enemy;
When I fall, I will arise;
When I sit in darkness,
The Lord will be a light unto me.  Micah 7:7-9

The Lord will be a light in our darkest hour if we but look to Him.
Just a thought, but a light is not useful till we turn it on.
We can choose to stress out over the struggle or darkness we are in or we can just flip the switch!
Think about it, if you turn on a light in the darkness you can see where not to step, where it is safe and where a piece of furniture or other obstacle will trip us up.
Jesus being the Light of our salvation we know we can go to Him to illuminate our situation and see how easily it will be to solve, and if it cant be solved? He will be there with us as we walk through the mine field of mess and find the way out at the other end of the trial.
Let’s make it a plan to seek the Lord while He may be found and seek Him with all our heart and mind and keep the peace in our heart and mind.
Let’s not let it get to us!
Let’s be blessed not stressed!
Dear heavenly Father, help us to accept your guidance, and to trust in You to help us get through all of the troubles that come our way, in Jesus’ name, amen.
