Good Morning! In His Word 3-6-18

Yesterday my neighborhood had a random power outage that took up about 12 or more hours to fix. Thanking God today that they were able to find it in the night hours and we could wake up to the light to read by this morning. I was unfortunately unable to send out the devotional article yesterday so here it is today! Be blessed as you read and remember to say Good Morning Lord! Thank you for today….

Good Morning! In His Word 3-6-18

What a better way is there to start your day then saying Good Morning Lord! The first thing I generally hear each day, aside from the worship song that plays in my mind as a wake up call from the Lord; is my sweet husband saying “good morning!” with a cheerful voice. Sometimes I do not want to hear it right away but then I think of how precious it is that he takes the time to let me know he is awake, and he knows I am awake!

Our God knows we are awake, and that we want to talk with him but He waits for us to say; “Good Morning…” and thank Him for the day.

I lift up my eyes to the hills from where comes my help; my help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth. Rough interpretation of Psalm 121:1-2

Some days when I wake up, and I am sure it is the same for some of you; I do not want to wake up yet. There is a place in sleep that gives us everything we wish for; peace, rest and no confusion. Still it is not life, and we do have to partake of reality once we open our eyes. For some people who have chronic pain sleep is the place where pain has no existence; you can walk run or maybe even fly! It is a beautiful thing for those who can find it.

Today when I awoke it was one of those, but I woke without a head ache, plus I slept in an hour or so longer than usual. For me that is a life time.  I need my early hours to have time with the Lord because it is my ‘me’ time. I get revitalized by the Word of the Lord and prayer before the rest of the world awakens and begins making sounds to distract me.

I know that if I wake up with someone else around that my voice will go toward them instead of God; I like to talk to people, what can I say?

When we wake up and go directly to the Lord it can help us focus on our days needs too!

We give God thanks for the day and continue on talking to Him about what we are doing and that can help us to organize thoughts and help us find a way to fit things in; at least that is what I do.

At the moment I have all I need—and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God.  And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.  Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen. Philippians 4:18-20

The Word of God can give us peace, give us strength and encourage us to go about our daily things to do. Whether it is work, play or school; we can gain the hope that we need to get through anything when we start in the Word and prayer time.

For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect;
the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. Psalm 18:28-30

With the Word in the morning we can find light for our day of darkness; He will direct our paths when we put our trust in Him. Proverbs 3:5-7 tells us to give Him our trust and He will lead us where we need to go. When we take the time to put our trust in Him in the morning we can walk knowing that He has us in the palm of His hand and we can make it through tests and trials because He is with us!

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; will not fear. What can man do to me? Hebrew 13:5-6

Today take the time to start with a Good Morning; and if It’s too late for today then start tomorrow!  Begin your day with “Good Morning Lord” as your first words and go from there to communicate your day and your gratitude with God.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for today! Thank you for all that you do for us each moment of each day; help us to realize that You are with us today and bless us with rejoicing moments in our days; in Jesus name, amen.
